The one thing that set The Maltese Goddess apart from the five other books that I have read is that it is a very good murder mystery. I have found her other books predictable, but the misdirection in this one was very good. Definitely the best one I have read by her so far. Read more/5(11). Each book is set in a different country: Mexico, Malta, Peru, Ireland, Tunisia, Italy, Thailand, Hungary, Easter Island, Orkney and China. Each book links the past and the present in an unusual way. The mysteries were publish ed from to by Berkley Prime Crime, New York.

I would love to have more info, like Mayan history in the first book - something the latter has done right.
